WGW Employment Opportunities

Williams Grant Writing is hiring!

We are a grant writing and research company which writes grant proposals and does research for a variety of nonprofit verticals; we’re looking to add a few more freelance grant writers/researchers to our roster of contractors.

This is 1099, ongoing, part-time work. Writers ONLY write proposals and do research; phone call communication goes through a Production Manager who interfaces with clients. Grant writers focus JUST on the writing-they do not need to do any client solicitation or worry about client interaction by phone. Writers are also not responsible for invoicing clients or chasing them for money. We are looking for grant writers who are also comfortable doing research for whichever clients are “theirs”. We do research via the Foundation Directory Online, to which we have an FDO account and to which we would give you access. Side note: if you are someone who JUST loves the research, talk to us; we might be able to keep you busy. Writing projects are paid out by milestone (first draft, second draft, and then 3rd draft/final, depending) on a bi-weekly basis via e-check; research is paid out bi-weekly via e-check as well. Writers/researchers are paid for achieved milestones, regardless of how long it takes us to get paid.

It’s cool by us if grant writers have their own coterie of freelance clients; we do request writers sign a non-solicitation/non-compete agreement as it pertains to *our* clients. This is a remote job and can be done from home on your own time. Writers can determine which projects they want to take on (and thus adjust their workload according to what works best for them), on a case by case basis; to note: we are looking for folks who want steady work.

Grant writing experience and experience doing research using Foundation Directory online is a plus. We quality check proposals and research until we feel comfortable with the level of quality. The ideal candidate is easy going, detailed oriented, looking for extra work, and likes the WRITING/RESEARCH part of grants much better than anything else.

If interested, please send resume, short cover email, and ONE writing sample to our Production Manager, Jennice Chewlin: [email protected].
